The Chairman welcomed Councillors and residents to the meeting.
23/2023 Declarations of Interest.
RESOLVED to note that there were no declarations of interest under consideration on this agenda in accordance with The Local Government Act 2000 Part III and The Relevant Authorities (Disclosable Pecuniary Interests) Regulations 2012.

Members were reminded that a training schedule for new and returning Councillors will be set up and will take place in late July and early September.
29/2023 Internal Audit
Due to the non-receipt of the report from the Internal Auditor in time for this meeting - this item was deferred until an Extraordinary Meeting of Haxby Town Council due to be held on Monday 26th June 2023 upon the rise of the Amenities Committee.
30/2023 End of Year Accounts
In light of 29/2023 above - this item was deferred until an Extraordinary Meeting of Haxby Town Council due to be held on Monday 26th June 2023 upon the rise of the Amenities Committee.
31/2023 Exclusion of Public and Press
RESOLVED that in view of the confidential nature of the business about to be transacted, it is advisable in the public interest that the press and public be temporarily excluded, and they are instructed to withdraw, due to the nature of the business about to be transacted which is considered to be prejudicial to the public interest.

COMMITTEE IN PRIVATE SESSION
32/2023 Staffing Matters
The Locum Town Clerk explained a matter regarding the national living wage and pay rises for staff in line with the NJC Terms and Conditions of Service and the national agreements in 2022.
RESOLVED that Members agreed that the contracts of the staff be updated and that they are paid all monies owed to them backdated to April 2022.
33/2023 Vexatious Complaints and Requests
Members noted that the Town Council is being inundated with vexatious complaints and requests from an ex-Councillor and one other and it is taking an inordinate of time to respond to each request.
