Transport
Haxby enjoys good road transport links from York and the surrounding area, in particular there is a 10 minute bus service to and from York throughout most of the day. Situated just off the A1237, the outer ring road around the north of York, Haxby is easily reached from the A64, the A59 and the A19. There is also a good connecting road network from York and surrounding villages.The timings given below are those listed in the current bus timetables published by First York and Transdev York. Copies of these timetables, showing timings for the main stops between Haxby and the destinations, together with the routes taken are freely available from the Council Office in Haxby.
Bus Service - First York
First York run two regular bus services to from York to Haxby. They are:Service 1 (Blue Line)
This service runs from Chapelfields through York City Centre to Haxby and onto Wigginton. The first bus departs from Wigginton, Mill Lane at 05.54 on weekdays, 06.00 on Saturday and 08.00 on Sunday. The outline schedule for the weekday service is as follows:
- 20 minute service until 06.58
- A frequent service throughout the day with up to 6 buses in every hour until 18.15
- The next departure is at 18.45; which is the start of the 30 minute service until 21.15. The last two departures from Wigginton leave Mill Lane at 22.15 and 23.00.
- The last three buses from York to Haxby and Wigginton depart from opposite the Theatre Royal at 21.29, 22.29, 23.29 and 00.04 Monday to Saturday. The 00.04 service does not run on Sunday.
This service runs from Acomb Park at Woodthorpe through York City Centre to Haxby. The first bus departs from West Nooks at 07.20 on weekdays and 07.30 at the weekend. The outline schedule for this service is as follows:
- 30 minute service Monday to Saturday until 18.40 and then hourly until the last bus leaves West Nooks at 22.40 on weekdays and 22.30 on Saturday and Sunday
- An hourly service throughout Sunday until the last bus leaves West Nooks at 22.30
- The last four buses from York to Haxby depart from Stonebow in the City Centre at 21.04, 22.04, 23.04 and 00.04 Monday to Saturday and on Sunday at 19.57, 20.57, 21.57 and 22.57.

Bus Service - Transdev York
Transdev York run an hourly bus service between Haxby and the Clifton Moor and Monks Cross shopping centres. This service originates from the Tesco Store at Askham Bar and terminates at the Monks Cross shopping centre. Full time table details are shown in the Transdev York Transport timetable, shown here are the first and last bus timings from Haxby to the Clifton Moor and Monks Cross shopping centre:- Service 20 towards Monks Cross. The first bus leaves from the Memorial Hall bus stop at 07.55 and again at 09.08. Thereafter there is an hourly service from 10.07 until 16.07, with two more departures at 17.18 and 18.28.
- Service 20 towards Clifton Moor. The first bus leaves from the Ryedale Court bus stop at 07.36 and then again at 08.36. Thereafter there is an hourly service from 09.46 until 16.48, with two more departures at 18.00 and 19.10.

Driving to Haxby
- From the A64 trunk road (heading east or west) turn onto the A1237 York Ring Road and then take the North exit off of the Haxby/New Earswick roundabout signed Haxby. This is York Road and it will take you into the town centre.
- From York City Centre take the Haxby Road through to the Haxby/New Earswick roundabout mentioned above.
Trains
