| Restricted Access to the Towthorpe Household Recycling Centre (2009-03-01) |
| "City of York Council have introduced a permit scheme that applies to any vehicle with a trailer wanting use the the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Towthorpe Road, Hazel Court or Beckfield Lane. A leaflet explaining the scheme is available by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page or from City of York Council offices. In outline cars, estate cars, people carriers and 4x4s without trailers can continue to use the Towthorpe Recycling Centre without the need for a permit; however, a permit will be required for any of those vehicle types with a trailer. The following types of vehicle will NOT be able to use the Towthorpe at anytime; small vans, transit vans, 4x4 pickup trucks, mini buses, camper vans and trailers over 10ft x 6ft.
